Derbyshire is renowned for being a hugely diverse county with towns and cities nestled in breathtaking countryside where industry and leisure go hand-in-hand.
 
Several of the most distinguished stately homes of England are located in Derbyshire, including Kedleston Hall near Derby and Hardwick Hall near Mansfield, both of which are owned by the National Trust. Haddon Hall Just 9 miles away from Thorpe, The Heights of Abraham offer an insight into 16th century lead mining as well as a multivision presentation of the story of rock. The complex is accessed via cable car from the base station in Matlock Bath. Guided tours of the caves are provided as well as shops and restaurants and a childrens play area amongst other attractions.
The National Tramway Museum The National Tramway Museum provides a great day out for all the family both indoors and outdoors. Attractions include vintage tram rides, museum exhititions, video theatre's and more. There are restaurants and gift shops as well as a childrens playground and picnic areas.
Dovedale is one of the most famous areas of the Peak District, offering unrivalled scenic attractions. It is a valley, which is both easy to walk along and easily accessible from the Midlands.
